Behavior Specialist I- Eating Disorder Partial Hospitalization Program

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate and support all daily program activities, including skills groups, meals and snacks, and outings.
  • Support client’s progress toward their eating recovery goals
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Engage in training to develop understanding if eating disorder behavior and development of skills for effectively supporting clients
  • Complete daily clinical documentation

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (MH field beneficial) or high school education/GED with at least one year combination of experience and training working with children, youth, and/or families, preferably in a mental health related setting.
  • Valid WA state driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to drive agency vehicles
  • Acceptance and ability to work with individuals and families with a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural and spiritual practices with the ability to apply a social justice and equity lens to all aspects of this work.
  • Experience working with eating disorders or higher levels of mental health care (preferred)

Ryther is preparing to open a Partial Hospitalization Program focused on serving children and adolescents with eating disorders. The Behavior Specialist will create and maintain a positive, safe, and therapeutic environment while assisting clients in challenging eating disorder behaviors. As a Behavior Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team in developing a program that utilizes evidence-based and best practices models of care.

The role of Behavior Specialist includes providing direct client care, supporting and facilitating therapeutic groups, promoting an affirming treatment environment, maintaining daily routines, and assisting in tasks related to client care, such as meal preparation.
